Intelligent Environmental Solutions Foundry (IESF) is located in the South Bancroft corridor. At IESF, we are committed to the long-term monitoring and conservation of the forests of the Land’escapes properties. Through continuous data collection and open access to environmental information to the public, we empower researchers, policymakers, and conservationists to make informed decisions on the health of Southern Ontario forestry.
Our mission is to ensure that forest and wetland ecosystems are understood, preserved, and sustainably managed for future generations to come. By leveraging advancing technologies in monitoring, AI and collaborative data-sharing , we provide critical insight into wetland development, new growth forest development, biodiversity trends and climate change.

A Welcome From Our Director Dr. Edward Sykes
As the innovation of machine learning and introduction of AI permanently alter the research landscape as we know it, we at Intelligent Environmental Solutions Foundry believe in integrating our new tools into the field of environmentalism. Our partners at the University of Guelph bring their expertise in building AI models and machine learning to allow us to streamline the organization and comparison of large quantities of data. In this way we can approach data in a multi-axis approach to allow for more holistic and specific conclusions that can build into a timeline of the ongoing conservation efforts within the property.
